Our Catholic roots are important to us and therefore we seek to support the role of religious institutions in today’s highly diverse societies. We strive to apply the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and seek innovative ways to enhance the quality of social and spiritual life.
Religious institutions and people serve the most vulnerable throughout the world and their efforts have inspired many social reform movements. We feel religious organisations and people have a key role to play in the public debate on values in secular societies. They can inform and inspire leadership and relations that foster human dignity and social justice for all.
Porticus invests in the resources and leadership of church organisations (religious and lay), so they can effectively take on the various roles required of them in today’s society. Special efforts are made to stimulate dialogue within the church, as well as between religions and society at large. Porticus also supports partners who help people to replenish and deepen their faith and put their values into practice within a modern context.
