Our vision

For the human adventure to continue on the only planet we have, we need to bring together the best of government, business, not-for-profits, philanthropy, and community activists. We can only make progress if we make common cause.

Everyone benefits when we see the bigger picture. Everyone has a part to play. Every one of us needs to care for our planet. And its people.

The problem

For our planet and its people to co-exist, something has to change. Economic growth has created more wealth – but a less sustainable and less equal world. Our societies have become more fragmented, turning inwards and looking backwards. And our climate is no longer ‘changing’, it is a full-blown emergency.

To survive together, we need to work together. We need leadership that harnesses the most useful aspects of government, business, philanthropy and civil society. We need cross-border strategies and cross-sector alliances. We need to do what works, and do it fast.

There is time to turn things round, but only if we act together. Something has to change. That thing is all of us.

Our work

We seek out and support innovation – the projects and programmes that make a practical difference and have the potential to scale up.

We build alliances at every level. From the grassroots to the boardroom, across sectors and disciplines, we share knowledge, start conversations and spark action. The challenge we face is too big for any individual, community or nation to tackle alone.

We do not tell. We listen. We learn constantly from our local partners, whose deep knowledge comes from direct experience. We share it, support it, and magnify it.

We hear what our earth tells us. By measuring what we have, and monitoring what we do, we can accelerate the difference we make – and learn how to live within our planet’s boundaries.

We cast our net wide. From renewable energy projects to protecting our forests, land, water, oceans and biodiversity, we are helping communities adjust to a carbon-free future – and showing the business community how they can help to drive that change.

We make everyone part of the solution. Across all faiths, nations and communities we work at the intersection, pursuing a common purpose based on our common humanity.
