Why it matters

Seeing the Church as a force for good means looking after children first and always.

Nothing matters more than preventing child abuse.

This journey involves many factors: child rights, honesty, an understanding of power, external accountability, the participation of diverse groups, including children and survivors – and, most significantly, a lasting conversion of heart.

We encourage the Catholic Church and other child-serving organisations to become more responsible leaders in preventing abuse, helping them to deal with cases compassionately and comprehensively when they occur.

What we do

We support companies that build organisational capacity and genuine personal commitment to prevent and respond to child abuse – knowing that both are vital to prevent a complacency culture.

We support current and next-generation leadership, because we know they play a key role in developing safeguarding policy and practice. And we help build the evidence base to protect children and prevent abuse.

Where we work

We prioritise our work with our partners in Brazil, Kenya, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, the United Kingdom and Zimbabwe.
